Currently in the process of buying a house (survey done, offer accepted) when will proceedings return to normal as I know our mortgage advisor from the bank is working over Xmas (except holidays) but am assuming EA and solicitors will be out of the office until post-new year?
Should contracts be ready to be signed in the new year??

Probably depends on what part of the country you are in.
if you're somewhere pretty urban...then maybe.
I'm in the "back of beyond" now and it looks as if pretty much everyone has now "shut up shop" until 6 January.0 -
Our solicitor is in Glasgow and they are in half day Monday then off till the 6th! Was surprised as I'm having to work in an office throughout... They are a big company. We are hoping to exchange on 20th Jan as far as I'm aware everything is okay going to plan etc, have left 2 messages to contact me for update before they go to no response! I shall be calling Monday and will not be accepting someone to call me back.. Will want an answer there and then..
