    Huge thanks Juliegeorgiana!

    Ok,

    Saturday

Tonight we have drinks and stuff, so the nibble bits will fill us up. Any extra sustenance needed I am buying extra smoked salmon because any lo can be used for breakfasts/ lunches. While throwing together canap!s also plan to make a little of what we call 'miss kool jelly',

    Sunday
Fusion food.......duck, stir fried w/ oranges and christmas and spices, with oriental overtones, pak choi, rice noodles. Never done it, but in my head it works.

    Monday

Salmon souffl!. Hot but not heavy.

    Tues
Georgian cheese bread ( which is probably all we'll want ) and salads, (Plus potato rosti for me as I probably can eat neither)

Wednesday. (Lowest key Christmas ever cooked. No starter, only the crusty as pud......just two of us, and see no need to do a banquet!)

Goose, stuffing, Brussels with chestnuts and nutmeg, roast beetroots, parsnips of Tiberius, roast potatoes. Gravy.

    Thursday
Cold cuts, avocado, pomegranate and rocket salad for freshness.

    Friday
    Hortobagi pancakes.
    Saturday
    Brunch out,
Supper ...garlic mushrooms with white wine and chestnuts for DH.

DH plans to bake bread daily ( lucky chickens! ) and we will be making a panettone to nibble on. Not sure what else. DH mentioned fancying Florentines.

We'd usually have at least three course meals several times this week, but we re both a bit switched off heavy eating ATM. Next week might be more ravenous, who knows. We also do not plan as much DIY this week, where as next week we'll be doing more so might be hungrier! We have muesli or porridge or toast and eggs for dh and the fixings for a full english or to for breakfasts apart from Christmas Day which I have planned a 'le cake' and spiced caramelised oranges with waffles. Lunches will be 'picky'.. I have three different pages on the fridge for him. Lots of fruit.

First year IN MY LIFE there is no home made Christmas ham. Why? Loads of good offers on hams, but none that I could see on ethically reared ones. On already cooked ones, but not ones to cook at home, the cooking of ham is a huge tradition for us, but I will NOT use unethically reared meat.....this time of year especially should be to think of others. Pigs included.

I can't really plan our full week as our left overs will really decide the menu. This is what I know.
Saturday- Pork chop covered in cheese and garlic butter with garlic bread and mushrooms
    Sunday- Chicken dinner
Monday- Chicken curry and turmeric rice
Tuesday- Takeaway as I don't finish work until after 7pm, my christmas box:D
Christmas day- Gammon, yorkshire puddings, stuffing, sausages wrapped in bacon, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, honey glazed parsnips, pancetta sprouts, gravy and mince and apple sauce.
Followed by mince pies and brandy cream or cheesecake with icecream
Boxing day- Sliced meats, pates and cheeses with crackers and breadsticks
Friday and Saturday depend on our left overs.

Have a lovely christmas everyone x

We seem to be feeding the 5000 on Christmas between lunch and tea so the rest of the week is very low key, cheap and cheerful. Hopefully there will be lots of leftovers :)

    Tues: tea at the Inlaw's

    Wed:
Brekky: croissants and no doubt copious amounts of chocolate for the kiddos

Tea: baked cheese with homemade bread and onion chutney
Homemade beef Wellington with dauphinoise spuds, carrots and roast tomatoes
Lemon mousse and shortbread (hopefully homemade time permitting)

Thursday: hoping for some leftover ham to make ham fried rice
Friday: leftovers or baked spud and salad
    Saturday: homemade soup
