I am really struggling to buy a gift for my nephew. I have all girls so am useless when it comes to buying for boys.
Can someone give me some ideas please .
I suggested a few things to his mum but she said he won't play with it,such as craft toys, lego, science kits, dvd's, games for his console (he has all new releases). I have ran out of ideas. He likes WWE but she has bought him loads of figures.

I have just given my 7 year old nephew a Paper Jamz Pro Guitar from The Entertainer for £10 and a guitar strap for £4. He absolutely loved it and my own son of 6 now wants one. It gets rave reviews and when it was demonstrated to us in the shop I tried it and really enjoyed it.0

He had a paper jam last year but didn't play with it.
I rally hate buying for boys lol.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
Boys at this age, start becoming harder to buy for, especially when you're most used to buying for girls. My mum struggles with 2 grandsons after only ever having daughters.
There's excavation type sets, where you chisel out of plaster the treasures. Many boys like digging. : My son had a gem set at around this age and still has the stones he got out in his bedroom now he's a teen.
There's make your own soap kits or similar, I know a science kit has been rejected by your sister as a suggestion, but some aren't just loads of different science tests to do which maybe she's thinking of. There's a volcano eruption kit for example, basically it's just a twist on adding vinegar to bi-carb and had the local kids fascinated when DS decided to demonstrate.
Wallets were something else I struggled with when DS was younger, you can find little girl purses everywhere but couldn't wallets and boys still go on school trips and holidays and take spending money. I'm sure I've seen Sports Direct doing some wallets suitable recently.
I can't think what they are called but son had a sort of rocket thing that you pumped up and the foam rocket soared into the air. If they live near a playing field or other green space maybe an idea.
20-Q? It's a ball where you start it by thinking of something and the ball asks quetions about it and you reply yes or no and the ball has to guess what it is within 20 questions to win.
Does he play minecraft as many boys do? There's various books out this year including an annual.
A remote controlled anything - depending on your budget. Teen was still mentioning one this year!0 -
What about some character pajamas? Or how about making up a chocolate & Film hamper/box? Maybe get a Christmas film for him, and add in a mug, sachets of hot chocolate, marshmallows and some chocolates?0

I agree with lots of the suggestions here. Rocket Launcher, torch, 20 question ball, science kit my be good. Vouchers to take him to the cinema with you. R/C helicopter, if in budget.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

what did your sister suggest? I think its a bit off to disregard your suggestions then not state anything he would like.
You say he is into games, how about skylanders? you can get lots of branded merchandise for that, lunches boxes, boxes to keep figures in etc
Hot wheel cars are normally popular.0 -

Totally agree, you've obviously spent time trying to think of something he would really like and his mum and dismissed them all which is quite rude. Boys are harder to buy for in general but there must be things he likes and hopefully at 7 still plays with toys, not just games consoles. Hope you find something nice to buy him0 -
To be fair it is hard to tell the tone of a conversation when just written down. However I agree with asking her for a list of things her son might like as you clearly are trying to put some effort in to this gift.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Get him a magazine subscription?
Or, if you can find a shop that embroiders logos, some very personalised pyjamas & dressing gown?!0
