WH Smith giving out my personal details without consent!

Hi all,
I've got a quick query I need some advice on.
I recently bought a Kobo from WH Smith which when I got home was faulty, I returned it and got a replacement - no problem. A couple ofmonths on however I received an email from a stranger stating that he had just bought a Kobo from the same store and when he loaded it up it had all of my details on it (email address, name, address etc).
I have since emailed the complaints department and voiced my concerns over having my personal details shared like this and received a reply with the usual apologies, it was an isolated mistake etc and they have offered me a £75 gift card as way of an apology.
I don't think this is enough for what has happened though so wanted advice on how best to respond to this, what (if any) laws they have broken by passing my details on. And how to go about asking for more than just a £75 gift card.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Nikki.

Did you input your details on to the faulty Kobo? Could you not remove the details before returning it? My email address, name and address details are common knowledge. I'd happily take the £75 voucher to be honest.0

You don't think it's enough? I hope they withdraw their generous offer.0

It was a mistake, firstly on your part for returning the kobo with your information still on it, and secondly by them by re-selling it without realising. I doubt any laws have been broken as they didn't knowingly and purposely pass on your details, they didn't sell them and they didn't gain anything.
How much more do you really think you deserve? How much have you lost? How has this caused you distress in any way?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Take the money ! It's more than enough.0

Get real....One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

What do you want, them to revise their procedures so this doesn't happen again, or more money?
Unfortunately we all know it's the latter, which is why your getting such harsh replies.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -
I'd also take the money.
I'm concerned for the other person though, they have obviously been given second hand goods.0 -
