Does anyone know where I can get a snagging list for a new home?
We have recently bought our new home from Bryant homes and it is due to be finished Nov, and I wanted to know where I could obtain one? Any recommendations?

Thanks I am meeting the site manager tomorrow I will ask, but probably purchase the list for £14.99 as I have heard horror stories about new homes and Bryant/Wilson Conolly came up really badly in the worst new homes program on ITV a few months ago!
Thanks for your help.0 -
Snagging is an old term for checking faults on a new home. If the home has slight problems I'm sure that the site agent will walk around the property with you and note your perceived problems and concerns, he will explain all the procedures etc.Every new homes developer tries to build each property to NH BC standard.Bryant's always try to please and are known as one of the better builders, thats why their homes carry a premium price.
A couple of days before legal completion revisit your home and insure all work completed .
Remember most new homes carry the 10 years NH BC guaranteemy bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!0 -
Lynda G, Hi,
Someone's pulling your leg, or your'e pulling ours! AS terrier lady said, a snagging list is a list of defects compiled when any new building, not just houses is 'completed'. The Builder will of course insist that everything is OK.
You must, before you complete, visit the property with the site agent and inspect every inch of the building. You compile a list of the items that you concider to be 'defective' do not just walk round with the agent and let him tell you whats wrong. Your list will, I guarantee be longer than his, it's then up to you to argue and agree what needs doing. Keep, phoning the Site Agent enquiring as to the progress, and make sure they carry out the work. Depending on the clauses in your contract you may be able to withhold a percentage of the final payment until such times as the work has been completed properly, and I say properly, which is not always to the same standard as you might expect. Hope this helps0
