I lived in a GF Flat backing onto open fields and boy was it freezing in winter, especially if the wind was bad. However, a neighbour further up the road had houses and high hedges and was as warm as toast in her flat.
Is there such a thing as a warm detached house though?
Of course there is such a thing as a warm detached house. You don't seriously think that those of us in detached houses are clinging together for warm do you? No, we have good insulation, double glazing and an efficient boiler and are snug as a bug in a rug. Albeit with higher energy bills, which are a function of the area of the house.Obviously exposure and wind chill will have some effect, as will living in a built up area.
Large towns and cities are known for being noticeably warmer than the more open areas around them. But these variations apply to all sizes of dwellings in a given area.
There, that's got that off my chest. Must get back to my warm lounge.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
