faulty tablet -recurring fault. retailer with adminstration isssues

Trying to find out if I have any opportunity under supply of goods and service act 1982 as I am pretty slur my SOGA chances have been scuppered due to the retailer going Into admin since purchase (although they are still trading).
  • bought tablet device in August 2012 from hmv
  • tablet twice developed fault with charging during warranty period - repaired by manufacturer
  • fault occurred again but device now out of warranty.
  • retailer refuse to get involved as purchase made pre-administration.
  • manufacturer say out of warranty need to go via retailer and use SOGA for resolution.

My thought is who do I go to to try and resolve issue? I suspect I will get nowhere with hmv due to administration, but my view is.the manufacturer have never fixed the problem hence it recurring. In reality I suspect the device has been faulty from the get go.

Any thoughts gratefully received. Sadly I did not use credit card otherwise things would be much simpler, although I guess I could look at a chargeback a purchase on visa debit.

Sorry to say that in my opinion you stand no chance of getting the manufacturer, or anyone else, to help with you issue.

Don't bother investigating the debit card chargeback as that won't help either... out of time for one thing.

I am sure you now realise that it is a good idea to make purchases with a credit card where possible.
