I hope this is the right board, apologies if not.
I'd like to get a cheap tablet that does good Skype. DH has just found out that he's working away during the week next year, so I was after one that he could have, and that our children could have so they could Skype each other. Any recommendations? Thanks

I think the Kindle Fire HD can use skype, and is pretty cheap for the hardware your getting

Thanks Daz. I was looking at the Hudl, but I'll cross it off now.
It's for video Skype. I think that'll be nice for them.
Is the Asus Memo any good?0 -
I use a Nexus 7 for Skype when I am travelling and find it works well Might be a bit pricey. My friend uses her Kindle Fire to Skype me and the quality is fine. Both are used for video calling.0

Just remember that he will need access to a WiFi connection to use a tablet this way.
If he knows he will not have access to free WiFi, then I would suggest getting a 2nd hand Android mobile & a '3' payg SIM with all you can eat data & installing Skype on that. '3' are the only provider not to actively block Skype.
If he has access to free WiFi, then go into a store and try out a few tablets to see what he thinks. If you find one that has a good camera and is within your price range then go for it.Never Knowingly Understood.
