    Morning All,

Early post for me. Setting off in an hour for the final leg home. However heavy rain and strong winds forecast for Scotland, so not looking forward to the A75. And then there is the ferry!

Right off to Little Chef for (small) breakfast! ;)

Have a good day everyone

    Morning all,

I haven't posted for a couple of days, real life has got in the way but hoping for a calm run up to Christmas.
    TTFTM glad you've finished work:j
JackieO glad Tessa had a good day
JulieG hope today goes as well as it can
    RR have a fab night
Luxor enjoy the pantomime dumpling never mind there is always next year. I'm also planning a big make over this year.
    Nar safe journey

Hoping its hubby's last day at work for a week, he's very stressed and tired and I want him to properly relax. I can tell when he's stressed as he gets a stiff neck. He works so hard for us all. I just want to pamper him for a few days.
Brief visit home from my daughter last night in between all her Christmas commitments. Tonight she's also taking my DGS along with her fella to the pantomime and staying at his house so won't see them until Sunday.
Dropped my sample at the hospital yesterday, hopefully it's all clear so my op can go ahead on 6th Jan unless it's cancelled again.
My youngest boy is still in bed as it's the first day of his holidays. I think he has finally got to grips with college and got two B's this week for different pieces of work:D very proud mummy
Going to do the bulk of my food shop today and then just some fresh bits on Monday or Tuesday.
Going to spend the weekend cooking anything I can in advance, including Mary Berry's Chocolate Torte which you can freeze and pull out on Christmas Eve.
Have a good day all x

Working hard to get rid of our debt.
  • Morning:)
I've finally managed to grab a coffee and I intend to drink this one! The one I made this morning went cold whilst I was doing other things.
Have taken youngest boy to school - it's about a 40 minute round trip and he usually gets the coach home but as they break up early today he has asked me to pick him up, as if he waits for the coach "it won't be worth him finishing early as it takes so long."
This isn't true, but as both boys have me wrapped around their little fingers, I'll be making the journey to the school again shortly after lunch:embarasse :D
Have picked up a card for a birthday that falls during the Xmas period, returned a gift that I learnt by chance that someone else had bought for the same person, and replaced it with something else - glad I found out beforehand that I'd duplicated, though.
My four legged friend has had his walk and is now curled up asleep next to me - what a life:D
I'm about to finish what I hope is the last of my wrapping, then later on I'll try to make another dent in the ironing pile, which seems to magically replenish itself overnight:eek:
Dinner tonight is sausage and mash.
Dumpling, I'm deffo one of the 99% who needs to promise themselves a physical and mental work over in the New Year, and I think the mental part needs to be worked on first before I can succeed with the physical!
The mindfulness course sounds interesting; I've seen books on the subject, but didn't know there were courses in it.
Anyway, enough rambling from me - have a peaceful and safe day everyone - especially those of you who are travelling today xx

X-ray animated-smileys-sick-076.gif went ok this morning and I managed to get through it without coughing.

I feel it a bit better today so I have done some washing and put it on the line, it is cold but blowy so it should dry off, no more washing until after Christmas now, apart from the bedding which I will do tomorrow.

DD didn't get the job she went for so she will have to sign on in the new year :( it is really annoying that she has to travel 8 miles by bus to sign on, what if she had no money?

    Safe journey Nar x

I'm always doing that; I either just drink it cold or else zap it in the micro.:D

Sorry she didn't get the job; hopefully something will come along for her soon. As for the 8 mile bus journey (and the fare to pay for it) - they don't care; the Jobcentre in MK is in a premium parking charge area; when Mr LW was out of work and having to sign on, I used to go along with him and use my Blue Badge to park or it'd have cost him an arm and a leg. I was still able to hobble on two sticks at that time, and I just used to go and have a mooch round John L3wis (without buying anything of course) while he was being grilled at the JC.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Back from school -It was good to see people, but I know I made the right decision. Most staff looked beaten: I won't repeat what I was told but 'bad to worse' sums it up. So sad.

Delivered a present on the way back and I'm now catching up on the Monastery Farm episode I missed - as it is raining spitefully outside I'm glad I'm in!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Hello all,

Been very busy as has everyone else it seems :)

Managed to get last of the sock animals faces sewn on this morning and wrapped up. Also wrapped all the other presents too. Managed to get it all done before DS2 came home from school, he finished at 11.30, once the concert was over. He has now gone Christmas shopping with his mate.

Feeling a bit rubbish today, sore throat and thick head, just hoping it will go away before christmas arrives. At least I now have a couple of weeks off.
  • Afternoon all
That's it I've finished ;til 6th Jan, as a Christmas treat I was allowed to leave work at 2:47 instead of my usual Friday finish of 3:00, woo hoo.
    I came home with some haribo sweets & 6 boxes of mugs to wash, I'm taking DGD to gym club tonight as her daddy is stuck at work & then I'm treating hubby & I to fish & chips;
    Have a lovely evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Hi everyone,

Busy day so far, decorating the house, making up the new beds ready for the visitors and grocery shopping. DH has made me cross because he said that he would take today off but instead he has worked from home so he's been unavailable to help.

Quiet corner tonight! Work finished for 9 days, vino in hand, and need to plan what I need to shop for to survive a few days, but for now will try to have a chilled day because Sunday might be a tough one!
