UKPC ignore or not?

In August ish 2012 I got a fine from UKPC because the attendant didn't look at my car properly and failed to see the ticket. At the time the advice on the forum was to ignore correspondence from them.
Eventually the letters stopped. But now, about 6 months after my last letter from them they've sent another, demanding £150 and threatening court action. Bearing in mind that parking was free I think this is a little steep!
I know that the advice has since changed. After all this time, should I go through POPLA or carry on ignoring them?

And if you also do the search of the forum as I suggested to that poster you will find 3 or 4 more like yours, and a link to the Parking Prankster's Blog on UKPC the other day. It's a new letter but there's lots of discussion already underway about it, and after all UKPC have never done court before so we shall see. It could easily be bluster and if not it's defendable!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
