Bus Lane Penalty Notices
Got one of these in York which turned up today, nearly paid the £30 (50%) discount as a fair cop, but found the following site which is helpful on appeal grounds. Have put one in more to avoid insurance impact, so will see.

As far as I can see it was mentioned by one person who didn't know what he was talking about. Insurers are generally only interested in criminal offences, such as speeding, which result in points on your licence. They rarely if ever ask about council tickets for decriminalised contraventions (eg bus lanes, parking tickets) - in theory they could, but they don't. This will have no effect on your insurance premium.Insurance impact is mentioned on this thread.

Result.
I received a letter today waiving the fee on a discretionary basis. Worth the appeal.0 -

Well done - most appeals can work in the end! Next time if they don't accept an appeal first time, post on pepipoo who help most people appeal most PCNs successfully:

Bus Lane queries on MSE would get more response in the 'parking tickets, fines and parking' sub board. And you wouldn't get the silly stuff about insurance posted on there.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
