Euro Car Parks PCN - help please

I have read the sticky newbie thread and tried to make sense of it all.:o I know that I should not reveal who was the driver, only the keeper.
The PCN was issued for overstaying the (3 hours) maximum free parking time on 12 December, the amount due is £90.........with a discount amount at £50 for early payment. The letter is dated 17 December.
There are no special reasons (elderly, breastfeeding mum, woman in labour) for returning late to the vehicle and overstaying.
I can't easily check the signs in the Morrisons Supermarket because I live a long way from the store.
The vehicle keeper (is currently in the doghouse;)) was a customer and did shop in Morrisons but paid in cash (not credit card) and didn't bother to keep the receipt.........so a direct appeal to the Morrisons Manager would be tricky.
I understand that the following phrase should be used in my appeal to Euro Car Parks:
My challenge is based on the assertion that your parking charge does not represent a genuine pre-estimate of loss to yourself or the landowner. In every case where a motorist has raised this issue, POPLA have accepted the appeal. You are therefore fully aware that there is no prospect of your charge being upheld. If you do reject the challenge and insist upon taking the matter further I must inform you that I may claim my expenses from you and my time at the court rate of £18 per hour. The expenses I may claim are not exhaustive but may include the cost of stamps, envelopes, travel expenses, legal fees, etc. By continuing to pursue me you agree to pay these costs when I prevail.
The PCN states that I can appeal by letter in the post or using the online appeals form.
I'd be grateful for your help. Is it best to send a letter in the post or is the online appeal just as good? Could you help me with the wording for the appeal please?
If I haven't included vital information, please let me know and I'll do my best to provide it.
I can't afford to waste £50.............who can?;)
Thank you
Nile

I'd be grateful for your help. Is it best to send a letter in the post or is the online appeal just as good?
In December just before Christmas it's best not to post important stuff, I'd have thought. Online appeals are good as well because you have proof of sending and maybe even an acknowledgement. You seem to have read all you need to so far so just use a basic appeal from the newbies thread plus the paragraph you have stated (good, that's our new advice!).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks Coupon-mad.
I used the online appeal and have received the following acknowledgement:

Hi Nile, I am in same boat with these people...under 'Euro Car Parks...signage discrepancies' - They didn't display the legal sign at entry, but there was a lot of helpful stuff given to me on my question, so reading my stuff will help, I think.
Will be following you, & will put my online appeal into them over next day or so.0 -
The letter from Euro Car Parks has arrived, with some errors. For example, I bothered to check their sums for their £90 charge and the amounts don't add up to £90.:D
I've checked that the POPLA code is correct (it is), from advice in the 'Newbies' sticky thread:
POPLA Code Checker, courtesy of ParkingCowlboys.co.uk which shows you when your 28 day deadline began:
http://www.parkingcowboys.co.uk/popla-code-checker/
The final sentence of the Euro Car Parks letter says:
If you choose to do nothing, we will seek to recover the monies owed to us via debt recovery procedures and may proceed with Court action against you.:p
I must admit, I can find plenty of examples of POPLA appeals results but it's the wording for the POPLA appeal that I need. I know you guys are experts in this area but for a newbie, it's daunting when faced with dozens (it seems like more:o) of threads and hundreds of posts to wade through.
I remember reading a post mentioning something along the lines of 'how can there be a genuine pre-estimate of loss' when it is free parking? I hope I can find it again.
I'll try to wade through the threads and posts but any help will be gratefully received.
Thanks

Would you mind if I sent you a private message Redx? It's regarding something in the Euro Car Parks letter which I don't want to post here.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. I have never dealt with Euro Car Parks so dont think I can offer specific advice , sorry
I can and will give general advice on what I read in here, and I know for a fact that there are dozens of linked examples of popla appeals linked from that coupon-mad sticky thread that people seem to want to avoid reading and researching
that was the reason for my reply, in that you say you cannot find popla appeals and yet the sticky thread links to popla appeals !!
ps:- took me less than 5 minutes to find this similar thread for ECP using the forum search tool https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4811914
as you are a veteran member of over 11 years I would have thought you would be able to use that tool to search for these threads using a few search words by now !
ps:- also found this winning appeal in the successful popla appeals thread too , post #747 https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/64240140#Comment_64240140

I will accept your criticism..........I'm just telling you how daunting it is...........faced with lots of threads and posts.
I do know how to use the search facility. I think that I have demonstrated that I've looked for (and used) some of the helpful information posted.
There is something specific in the letter which I wanted to ask you about via PM.......rather than posting in here.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Give blood, save a life. 0 -
but it took me less than 10 minutes to find the info and links I have just posted in my previous reply, that surely cannot be difficult or daunting ?
I agree this process is daunting and I am learning myself, but as I have never had any dealings with ECP then how would I know or understand what is in your letter ?
surely you would ask somebody with exact experience of ECP and their letters than somebody like me that has never had one ? nor ever dealt with them ?
sorry but what you are asking does not make sense
it actually makes more sense if you contacted those people that posted the threads I linked to , would it not ?
Excel and PE I have had dealings with, but there are dozens and dozens of others that I havent had dealings with
but I have used the search tool and found suitable and recent threads for you with suitably worded appeals and successes etc
to me that means I have done what I can, but I feel you could and should have done this already , sorry to be blunt but its how I feel !0 -
pm it to me! I have had a ECP ticket before myself and can help.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
