Hello,

I see I am not the only one... thats quite encouraging.

I need help with regards to the below please:

I received a PCN from Vehicle Control Services in April for £60 for parking on Privetely operated roads.
After going through forums I decided to ignore.
This resulted in phone calls and additional letter in May. (now for £100)
Then next:
- 2 Letters in July (1 from Roxbourghe and 1 from GBP) (now £200)

As I was reading through forums I was convinced best way was to ignore.

Now I received 2 letters from Rossendales Collect. (december)
- The first one is a complete blunder - somebody just sent me a template letter without any details (ie. when amounts are supposed to be given there is "<fee>" instead)
- Second one is the more threatening one (states: there is a possibility this matter may proceed to court...).

I have never appealed nor called VCS.

I need help!

I am a registered keeper - also there is no way the road signs can be seen or read on the road.

I need help now and I am willing to pay to someone to help me write letters/appeals or whatever is necessary.

  • Too late to start the appeals process now - they'll throw it back at you.

Best to continue to ignore (it was early this year the advice started to change from "ignore" to "appeal") unless you get real court papers or a real Letter Before Clam (which will have to come from VCS themselves and not a toothless debt collector).

Don't lie in any correspondence you have, by which I mean if it was your car they caught, don't try to claim it was a clone. You could get into very serious trouble for deliberately misleading.
  • Thanks!

i will ignore for now. What should I do if I receive a letter from VCS?

Please do read the 'Newbies read this first' thread for your options now that you are too late to appeal. This is covered under 'DC - Debt Collectors' in that 'sticky' notice thread at the top.

You should have appealed and you still could send a robust response if you like (to VCS not Rossendales middle-man) but most people suggest waiting to see if you get a Letter before Claim. Then you refer to the 'LBCCC Fightback' sticky thread for how to definitely respond to that.

Isn't this the Airport where an MP has publicly complained about the bad signage (not clear that it's meant to be a no-stopping zone)? There's a newspaper article about it and you could contact the MP to advise him of your case too.

Finally if you can find omissions in the Notice to Keeper (the first letter from VCS) then you could complain to the BPA about this harassment. Details in the 'Newbies read this first' sticky thread. Keep all the letters - including the dodgy DC template - in case VCS ever try a small claim. They have up to 6 years (but it's rare).

Any contact should be written from the registered keeper only and you should really edit your post above so as to keep the driver anonymous. PPCs read this forum and unfortunately for them, on Airport land only the DRIVER can be pursued...so keep it so that the driver is not admitted anywhere.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
