visit tarragona- cheap on the local buses for real spain food, beach and shopping. plenty of excellent places to eat and also venture to the spainish part of town near the train station..
port aventura is excellent but also is the waterpark in a pineda
where are you staying?

The titanic is a brilliant pub with entertainment every night, its near the information center, also on the way there there is a bar called 007, its adults only after 9pm but there is an amazing comedy magician act on some days, he is amazing, very funny, he also does a hyponotism show, again very good.
If you decide to go to port aventura, have a look round some of the bar windows, there are some where if you buy two pints of carling you get a BOGF voucher for the theme park.
If your children are very young I wouldn't bother with the main beach as it gets very very busy. You can either head down towards the harbour where just after a chemist there is a lovely beach which is much quieter. Or in the oposite direction there is a beach in cap Salou, its hard to tell you how to get there though without knowing your hotel.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

Just something that comes to mind from past experience....
When we took my 4 year old to Valencia, Spain earlier this year, the restaurants do not open until 8pm.
We ended up having room service or macdonalds most nights. "Never save something for a special occasion. Every day in your life is a special occasion". _party_0 -

I have stayed at a few, the best being club dorarda palace, they are completly amazing, I have gone back there 3 times now (or is it more? I forget) http://www.firstchoice.co.uk/sun/?GC=11254
I have also stayed at cye which is quite basic and the marinada appartments, the hotel section of this one is ok but the appartments are dire.
I never had any problems with places not opening late in Salou like the above poster, most stayed open from about 7am till about 2am with only one or two only opening for tea time.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
i do not not know of any good AI hotels in salou
club dorada palace, h10 s are among best. But this really depends on what you are after all the ones at port aventura are of good standard but you wouldn't really now you are in spain- whilst others may be more spanish particulalry out of very high season.
personally i would stay in cambrills or even tarragona itself as more spanish but well linked to all attractions0
