How interesting.
If that sounded sarcastic, it wasn't meant to, by the way!

I wonder if Neil Woodford will end up becoming a victim of his own success and/or ego. Schumacheresque is what I'm getting at.'We don't need to be smarter than the rest; we need to be more disciplined than the rest.' - WB0

Interesting analysis in the FT
"Mr Woodford is known to have wanted to downsize as he was struggling to maintain his successful investment performance. He still has one of the best performance records, having returned 23 times his investors’ money over 25 years.
But his best years were a decade ago when his funds were much smaller. Some analysts say his funds have become too large and unwieldy, and it is difficult to remain nimble and flexible when running such a large amount of money. Indeed, Mr Woodford’s positions in some small-caps are so large, it has rendered them illiquid and difficult to trade in."0 -
he sold vodafone just as many purchased at 160p"enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0

I've just checked my returns V Woodford.
I'm staggered that my amateur, rather slap dash value inspired portfolio has returned just 3 percent less than the esteemed fore mentioned over the last 5 years!0 -
Whilst I have jumped ship, he made an annualised 10% for me over 11 years. That's whilst taking the income.
Bit better than the Post Office Savings Bank.0 -
Where have people jumped to? For interest only...0

You'll get close but rarely emulate.
To match Warren Buffet in his heyday you'd of needed access to sizable amounts of cheap funds to play with.0
