Selling Shares - complete novice

Hi All,
Looking for a bit of advice on what I can do with some shares I was given as part of an ex employers IPO a few years back. I was given a number of ordinary 1p shares when I was there, which were then transferred out of the plan when I left. Some were sold to cover the tax, leaving me with a couple of hundred pounds worth of shares held in Equiniti. The shares haven't really ever moved in price and I'm looking at my options.
Option one is to sell the shares - seems I can do this online through Equiniti for £45. Does anyone know whether I can do this for cheaper elsewhere or would I have to use Equiniti? I have the share certificate.
Option 2 would to be to move the shares into a scheme of some sort and 'exchange them for something else. I'm not sure whether this is possible and I'd actually have to sell them and start up something separately?
Thanks in advance for any info, it's much appreciated

You could give HL a ring - they can send you a form to fill in to get the shares transferred onto their platform - once there you can decide to sell for cash or transfer to something else. Other platforms have lower trading costs but watch out for other charges & costs.0

Would you still need to transfer out if you already hold these shares in certificated form?
If you have got the share certificate then I don't think you will need to go through Equiniti, you could do something like:
Open a Share Dealing account with X-O.co.uk (free to open and no annual account charges) then transfer your share certificate in to your account and sell them for £5.95 per share holding.
X-O.co.uk share dealing services (£5.95 per trade) -
How do I transfer in stock that I hold in the form of certificates?
