Which is the better processor?

I am trying to find a laptop for my son for Xmas. The two I am looking at both have Intel Core i5 processors in them. One has the i5-4200U and the other has i5-3210M. Please could someone provide some advice on which one of these is better.

The i5-3210M gives a higher performance than the i5-4200U.

only thing the i5-4200U has going for it, less power, so battery life would be better depending on how many cells the laptop has of course

And has Intel 4400 graphics, so you if did want to play the odd game, chances are you'll get 10-15% better performance than a 4000hd in the M series. The 4400 on a surface pro 2 will even run battlefield 4, no chance of doing that on a 4000.

Being a laptop, the better battery life would be the reason why I would choose the 4200U alone.
