Car warranty
Good evening guys,
Im just looking for some advice if possible.
I got my car back in june this year, and it came with a 6 month RAC gold warranty. Now I did unfortunately have to use this a few month ago. I had to get a part on my engine replaced and it was surprising how simply it was. All I had to do was get the repair done, pay the garage myself and then the RAC refunded be within a week or so.
The renewal for the warranty has now come through £299 for the year which I thought wasn't bad considering that the repair I had was £200 and something pound.
I did however get a quote with warranty direct when came out £10 less than the RAC gold warranty, and the guy who called me told me that warranty direct covered for wear and tear and had all these recommendations such as top gear magazine.
so my questions are;
- has anyone had any experiences with warranty direct and are they good?
- are warranty's really worth it?
- If i am getting a warranty for my car, what should I really be looking out for?
Thanks

I've not heard anything bad about them, however watch what they're willing to cover, as I wouldn't think it would be everything.

LOTS of negative posts about warranty direct.
The best warranty is a manufacturers one. After that its a slippery slope.
Thats not covered its wear and tear...Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
This all sounds too good to be true.... for example:
"Failures identified at service or MoT Test" - does this mean if the car fails an MOT they cover the cost?
Covering wear and tear? At £300 if they covered wear and tear then surely it's in effect merely a maintenance agreement of some sort? So if your clutch feels dodgy, take out cover and in 6 months when a packs in pay from £0 to 50% of parts depending on age.
All sounds a little suspicious if you ask me0
