Bank mistake now no overdraft...

Nationwide made an error closing my account and it ended up £300 overdrawn from charge with no overdraft. They fixed it and gave me compensation but it is on my credit file. They are getting it removed from my file but this takes time.
In the meantime tho Halifax have written to say they are removing my overdraft I have to put my account back in credit by jan 4th (it's £500)
I've never missed a payment on anything before and have never had a single bank charge.
Lovely Xmas present from Halifax!
I've got savings that I can use but I'm moving house in January and need that money for that- will they put it back on once my credits clear again?

Doubt it. Overdrafts can be called in at any time, so if you want to borrow money reliably, get a loan. It's almost certainly also a lot cheaper than an overdraft. In your situation, applying for a loan at cation wide, in person (so you can explain the circumstances) sounds most promising.
Other than that, try saving so you aren't depending on borrowing which costs you extra.0 -
I doubt the two events are linked anyway.0
