Need advice asap newbie please help

Right, so up till recently I was working full time at tescos,

I dislocated my shoulder and could no longer work i got sick pay and i think am still getting from tescos but not too sure as I did get a letter of being fired but they said this was a mistake.

Well basically im looking to rent a new flat and have already agreed with the landlord to take it i have said i had bad credit rating in the past and he said its fine he could find a way round it so he wouldn’t do credit checks, he said aslong as i was still working it was fine..
I went to pay deposit holding fee to take off market of 250 they then said they would need work hr numbers i then said wanted to move in asap and they said without them they couldn’t move in before but then she spoke to manger and he said aslong as i pay and bring in payslips or contract of employment then i could move in first without.

I have savings and can afford the next 6 months rent so my question is if i sign contract and am moved in, will he still do checks? Will i move in and then just get kicked out days later or will that not be possible if he finds out?

And at one point when i explained tesco warehouse was hard to get hold of she said i could give my mangers’ number could i not give my mates and blag it?

If i move on this Saturday and and sighed contract etc if he finds out i am no longer working what will happen

Basically once u move in and contract signed that's it, u cannot ever, EVER, just be kicked out. Only a court can evict u.

Take from that what u will

Any sensible LL will have the LA on a tight leash and expect to see the work references themselves before signing anything or handing over keys. They would also expect to get something in writing from your employer (payslips, written references on headed paper or whatever), not just get a phone call from some random person saying they're your boss.

Of course, the reason the LL is happy to take you with no credit checks could be because he is the worst LL on the planet and will take months to do any repairs (if he bothers at all) but you'll be stuck in the worst flat on the planet because no sensible LL would take a tenant without seeing the references and credit checks for themselves.
  • also its an agency not the landlord

You might be dealing with a LA, but ultimately it'll be the LL who's responsible for everything and, if they know their business, will want to check everything or satisfy themselves that the LA has carried out the proper checks. If they don't know their business then you will probably be left dealing with LAs who know even less, except how to charge you for everything under the sun.

You said the LL agreed not to do credit checks, so I took it that you had contact with the LL. Apologies if I misunderstood your post.
