L&G stocks and shares ISA

Have been looking into investing in S&S now for some time, L&G were among some of the companies I was looking to pool my investment in a Unit Trust/OEIC/ICVC.

Obviously the value of any investment can go up/down, however they offer a £100 deal for a new account through Quidco, so anyone looking to invest the £500 minimum, would only lose money if the fund loses >20% in the financial year.

Thought this might be useful to others looking into investing in a similar vehicle.

Only downfall is that you cannot have another S&S ISA with another provider. If you wanted this I would suggest getting one through Fidelity, which will allow you to invest in several Unit Trusts.

If you are looking to buy funds via a supermarket, Hargreaves Lansdown are usually the cheapest route in terms of both IC discounts and annual commission rebates.

Going direct to provider is old hat. You pay more usually and you can only use funds from that provider. Fund supermarkets/platforms are better all round.

Only on the ISA and unwrapped funds. Inside other tax wrappers they are still quite good but can be beaten.
