would you restore the machine to factory settings given that the machine is running fine and i can save my pics etc to cd.
will probably sell on ebay so i guess i would need to wipe off passwords etc
by the way the lappie is sony vaio so no recovery disks to hand

If you had the XP disk available, I would run dban on it, then reinstall windows.
But, as you don't, the safest thing to do is to restore to factory state, and then wipe free space with eraser, sdelete or similar, and then defrag.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
