App to control laptop screen

I dont know if anyone knows of an app that can control the laptop while I watch Movies.

I want to watch a tv series and dont want to keep on getting up at the end of each episode if I can avoid it

Yes it'll work - I have done likewise in the past. Then I realised I shouldn't be such a lazy git and get off my fat @rse instead!

I would but being seven months pregnant I cant be bothered getting up and bending down all the time

unified remote is a good one, can use the touch screen as mouse/keyboard or switch it to a remote with vlc/media centre buttons and much more

Can't you just queue the files in a playlist in VLC (or whatever media player you're using)?
