Not sure but I did speak to one person who had all his direct debits with the bank wiped.

Heard a woman on the bus today giving off hell about them. She said she opened an account with Bank of Ireland that morning. Seems they wiped her account funds and it took until today to sort out. This seemed to have happened on Monday.

Why on earth is anyone still banking with them after the way they've treated customers over the last two years. i'm sorry, it's not very Christmasy, but I think you'll find there's little or no sympathy for anyone still using them.

It is working perfectly tonight but what really annoyed me was the lack of any support or logical discussion about the issue. They basically just said it was my problem as their systems were working - which they clearly weren't for 2/3 hours.

It was a strange one as I couldn't access any of the Ulster Bank websites, north or south whereas all other financial institution website were instantaneous.

Another big embarrassment for them that after spending a fortune on advertising their Mobile banking App on Tv

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNvLwZv7O9s

It doesn't/never worked on the latest Android phones running Kitkat such as the Nexus 5:mad:

"We are aware of issues with our app on KitKat. We are working on this now and hope to resolve the issues asap."

That Ulster Bank statement was 6 weeks ago

Out of interest, what incentives do Ulster bank have to keep customers?

I don't know but they certainly have problems getting new ones. I applied to them before returning to NI as I had banked with them before I left the country. I had to really fight with them to be accepted even though I have an excellent, long term banking record and was bringing extensive funds with me.

Ultimately, the reason I didn't go with them was that they made a mistake about personal information in the printout they sent me to sign. I corrected it and signed the correction. They refused to accept the correction and wanted to go through the whole process again. I took this as a bad omen and decided to stay with my GB bank for the time being. As it has transpired I had no need to move and am still with them.

Ulster Bank's loss and my gain, I've been spared all the rubbish which has gone on.
  • Why why why do people stay with them????????
