Help: msn don't log on vista laptop

Options
Hi, I can't logon msn messenger on my vista laptop. The icon goes left char right char like normal logging action but it continues to do this without ever logging on.

I tried uninstalling and installing again but no joy.

I googled for this problem and changed the netsch tcp set autotuning = disabled - this did not work either.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

Cheers,

Nick

disable the firewall to see if it is that stopping it (rememder to turn it back on afterwords)you should be alright for a few minutes.when mine do's it msn puts a trouble shooting box up and i click repaire and if that dos not work it tells you why to a point.
do tthe rest of the internet work alright when it happening.
when mine dos it its usually down to the OS has lost connection to the net and just gives you local network if your using a router(limited network ) meaning not connection to the internet and a diagnose and repaire of the network adaptor usualy works
there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff

I have tried various things following countless searches on the web:

    I get the error: 81000306.

I can use webmessenger but not msn messenger? Messenger works on other PC.

I have tried un-installing messenger then installing, no joy.

    I switched off the firewall.

I have played around with the netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled in CMD.

I have tried running spy checks and even un-installed adaware.

I right-clicked the short-cut messenger icon but I do not get the run in administrator option?
