Halifax Reward £100 switch offer

I've had a look at the Halifax offer to switch and close an existing current account http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/switch-to-halifax/ but I don't see any information that stipulates what the requirements are for the old account in order to get the £100 reward.
Does the non Halifax account need to have any active direct debits in order to get the reward when switching?
I'm also curious about the Halifax account once you have switched to it, I believe that once the switch has occurred the £100 will be credited to the Halifax account but how long does this new Halifax account need to remain open for? I wonder if people switch to Halifax, get the £100 then close the account. I can't seem to find any information mentioned that the account has to remain open for x days/months in order to receive the £100.
TIA

I opened a new bank account online the other day. I plan on closing it and switching to Halifax soon and see how good they are. Not sure you're really meant to do that, but I guess I'm just playing the game, and £160 in one year for not 20 minutes effort is not to be sniffed at.
Like you, I haven't seen much information regarding rules about how long the old account had to be opened for.
I doubt people just close the account, as you get £5 a month providing you comply to the terms and conditions of the account.0
