ASDA saving money by not paying their staff

Hello all, I'd like to say I'm a long time lurker but I've literally just signed up to this forum - mainly driven by anger and frustration at my partners predicament.
***TLDR - if you're an ASDA employee and they have messed you around with pay before PLEASE PLEASE reply here with the details I really want to get some idea of how big this problem is, thanks!***
You see my partner has worked for ASDA for over 2 years with a break of a couple of months when she moved in with me. In all of that time she has received TWO correct pay checks from ASDA - they pay every 4 weeks - of course she has never accidentally been over paid, always under paid, sometimes not being paid at all. It apparently happens to many staff, not just my partner. Her first paycheck read 00.00 for almost a hundred hours work. The next was 500 pounds down. They finally sorted this first problem with a massive paycheck that she was over taxed on.
Since that first disaster they have constantly underpaid her, miscalculating holiday, hours worked and over time, it has been a constant and emotionally debilitating battle with ASDA to get the pay she is owed by contract. She has just started work at the local ASDA and her first paycheck came in at less than half of what it should have been. She has raised this with the store Manager and regional manager who have shrugged their shoulders and offered empty platitudes respectively.
My partner has suffered massively from the stress of trying to work around her financial difficulties caused by ASDA and her health has genuinely suffered.
The best ASDA have to offer victims of this practice - which is at best negligent incompetence and at worst calculated abuse - is a store loan taxed at 30% or to wait until next payday and for them to take their chances on whether the next paycheck is correct or not.
I think it is totally disgusting that a major national employer and supermarket are allowed to do this to their staff. We have just moved into a new flat and are trying to get through our first Christmas together with no money and bills to pay. There is a real risk we will incur overdraft charges, additional interest and that her credit score will suffer before the end of January.
People are perfectly happy to take advantage of cheap supermarket prices but what they may not realise is that those supermarket are taking advantage of people who work very hard and get up very early to keep their shops running.
I know this is one story and I am looking to find out how widespread it is - our experience covers two years, two stores and anecdotal evidence that many staff are affected.
My partner has a theory that if they under pay even a small proportion of their staff every payday they have hundreds of thousands - probably millions of pounds extra for cheap last minute bulk buys, this may not be true but I'm sure you understand constantly being underpaid makes the mind wonder.
If you are an ASDA employee and this kind of thing has happened to you, please reply I really want to make some noise and hold ASDA to account for this awful behaviour.
Thanks

It's not a widespread thing. Having worked at Asda some years ago, I never once had a problem with pay.
If it's anything like it used to be, she should be clocking in via. the clocking in machine with a swipe card. If you forget, you get a form, write what you have done and have it signed by your manager and this is then passed to your stores internal HR (usually consists of a few people in the office).
I believe hours are tallied up in the office, and then forwarded on to HQ, because in the office they would check and submit all hours for that month. The clocking in machines are (at least they weren't) not connected to HQ so all the hours, they are stored on site and submitted to HQ HR to process.
If all or many staff are affected, there are two possibilities, the clocking in machine doesn't work correctly (unlikely that magnetic swipe cards would be faulty en masse), or the person(s) that do the wages are either tampering with the hours/wages or are just completely inept at what they are doing.
Course of action would be to contact HQ's HR and try to get it investigated and be willing to submit any and all evidence, don't be nasty with them. If this fails? Threaten them with going public, unfortunately that is the only way to get anything done with Asda if they won't listen. Either way, make sure you have evidence before doing anything.
If the managers aren't complaining (and there isn't a high turnover of managers), then perhaps there is tampering going on, probably to hit store profit targets. There really are some nasty pieces of work at Team Leader level (if its anything like the structure when i worked there, that's one above Manager).Professional Data Monkey

I feel your pain, but please be careful when naming employers on Social Media Websites. Most employers will have it written in employee contracts that they must never "badmouth" employers or colleagues on Social Media Websites and such actions could lead to disciplinary.
My advice would be to see the Union Rep or raise an issue with the manager.
I know a couple of people working in major supermarkets and they have absolutely no issues. When I previously worked for ASDA House in Leeds, it was a very positive experience - annoying cheesy American style "Huddles" - but they always resolved any payments quickly and paid staff promptly.0 -
My "freind" has had nothing but the same problem recently transfered to a new store so hopefully they won't be as bad. the problem seemed to be only one person was qulified to do wages and sort any issue. if this person was off then nothing got done. One month no pay then one month double pay paid once then paid again two weeks later. Instead of trying to sort it she left it and rightly received no pay at the end of the month.0

I have a friend who is married to a man who works at Morrisions - she complained on facebook about lack of service at the customer service desk, and then he was called in a given a written warning....
Do be careful...
I don't work there, but have to say my current employer is less than enthusiastic when it comes to paying me - it SHOULD be sorted by this Friday - if not then I'm jacking it in, as its not worth it for no pay... hahaha...
It does suck, get her to call ACAS - she may need to look into a tribunal, although she has twelve weeks to lodge the formal complaint. (I was told as mine was an ongoing issue, then there may be a bit of leeway)...
