Of course the dealer is responsible
Can you point to the relevant section of the SOGA that states this?0 -
It could say.
'I wore my clutch out and expect this chap to pay'
It would have to be a pretty ropey clutch to start off with if you were able to wear it out in 2000 miles! Even my mother, who always rode her clutch, used to get 20,000 miles out of hers."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

Those don't really enter into it.
I had a 10 year old Volvo 740 with 340,000 miles on the clock, but the clutch was perfectly sound."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Ah that makes it clearer. You sold the OP your 10 year old 340,000 mile 740 and it has now worn out at 342,000 miles. Scandalous.0

Or if not speaking about cars, buttons and switches on mobile phones, laptops, tv's ect.
Does the SOGA not cover these?
No, not if the problem is reasonable wear and tear. Reasonable being the key word.0 -
What is taken into consideration with reasonable wear and tear when it comes to court cases?
Genuine question as although i've learned a lot about SOGA on here i've never had to excercise it before. All your base are belong to us.0 -

That's nice, shame that isn't the case with your typical motor these days.
Of course these things matter, if the car has 100k on the clock and its never been replaced then its simply wear and tear, if the car has 10k miles on the clock then clearly something is inherently faulty if not misused.0
