Missing freebie

Hi, i'm hoping one of you will be able to advise me on this. Last week I ordered a Samsung Galaxy Tab3 from Asda Direct, it was advertised on their wesite as coming with a free 16gb memory card. I took delivery of the Tab but there was no memory card with it so I e-mailed Asda customer services. I have just had a missed call and voicemail from them saying I have to contact Samsung directly to rectify this.

Am I right in thinking that this is wrong and that my 'contract' is with Asda so if there is a problem it is their responsibility to sort it out? I thought I should check this out before getting back on to them!
Thanks muchly, in advance :rotfl:

Technically yes - it is for ASDA to sort. But you might get it resolved more quickly by going direct to Samsung.

Make sure to use SayNoTo0870.com if the number they have given you for Samsung is an 08 one.
  • They haven't even given me a number to call, I'll see if there's a number on the paperwork that came with the TAB.

    Thanks for your reply.

This was part of Samsung's 1-2-free offer, which ended earlier this month. Newer stock will not have the free memory card in the box.

If ASDA have left this information on their website, then they are at fault here and should sort it. Samsung almost certainly won't because they have not forgotten to include the card - your tablet was not meant to have one.

Currently according to Asda Direct website:-

Expand your memory for free! Free 16GB memory card when you buy the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 or 10.1.*

That doesn't change anything. If asda advertise a feature and they are selling new stock without it then it's still asda responsibility to resolve the situation, as esqui says, samsung don't have to do a Thing here if it's new stock...

It shows that the offer is still running and has not ended as was previously stated by esqui.

I think the point was that Esqui said that Samsung's offer had ended. The offer on Asda's website is Asda's responsibility and they have to honour it, not Samsung.

Samsung clearly say their 1-2-Free offer ended on 31.10.

So this is an ASDA specific offer and it is up to them to sort.

Then it looks like it'll be ASDA's offer, and not Samsung's. Unless Samsung had some special versions of their stock, including a memory card, sent to ASDA.

Also, we will assume that OP bought an 8" or 10" version, and not the 7", which doesn't have the free card?

Asda have probably covered themselves with the T&Cs anyway
While stocks last, subject to availability
