False ceiling

Hi,
I've got a bit of dilemma with my bathroom. It's got a sloping roof, so the previous owner put in a false (plastic) ceiling. I want to put in a shower, but the ceiling's a problem. It's a bit low when you're standing up in the bath, but the real problem is that they've put spot lights in the ceiling directly above the bath. I can't see that being safe once you add a shower in.
So, I originally thought about pulling down the ceiling. The thing is that'll leave me with the choice of bodging some new tiles in over what the ceiling covered or remodelling. I like the tiles that are there already and I don't really want to remodel everything just to put in a shower.
An alternative would be to put in a new false ceiling with lighting in a safe place. I'm not not sure where to source this. Some searching online hasn't been terribly productive. Is it possible to get curved ceilings to get some extra height? I'm not sure what to do about a shower curtain either, the bath is large and curved for an extra complication!
Any advice/options would be great I'm really not sure how best to tackle this.
Cheers!

you can have lights above shower, but they have to be a certain type (zone 1 iirc), but they probably need a minumum height too.
you shouldn't need new wall tiles unless the existing ones are lower than the height of the shower head?
just some bathrrom paint? or are you thinking of the ceiling?
you can get curved shower screens, but not cheap. cheap alternative is a four-fold screen. have a look at argos.0 -
Thanks for the advice. Waterproof lights didn't occur to me. Will definitely investigate. It looks like IP67 rated lights would fit the bill. There's a 200cm gap between the bath ceiling.
When I mentioned new tiles, I meant if I took down the false ceiling, I'd need new tiles to fill in the gap between the false ceiling and the real one. I'm pretty certain they didn't tile all the way up.
Will also checkout the screens. Do they attach to the bath? Presumably, one end fixes to the wall but what about the hinge resting on the bath?0
