Tesco Balance Transfer Expiry Date

Hi, I had a balance transfer offer from my Tesco Credit Card back in July, and took advantage of it, however I've lost the paperwork which says how long the promotional period was for. It must have been at least 9 months as I never bother with an that are 6 or less, but am not too sure.

I've looked at my statement and it shows my promotional balance interest rate as zero, and under the expiry date it's just blank.

That doesn't seem very helpful or transparent, not sure about phoning them up in case it's an error and is somehow stuck on that 0% rate for longer than expected (lol!)

  • Give them a call. Better than getting hit with interest you don't want.

A couple of years ago, I had a 0% offer.

2 months before the 0% was due to run out, the information was shown on the statement on the first page, on the left hand side, with the heading Important Information.

It was never shown where I and others thought it would be under the expiry date.

I no longer have the card, so no statements, but it could still be the same.

Does the 'lol' mean you're not really being serious about not phoning them?

The chances of you missing a full payment and getting hit by high interest is much higher than the chance of them having forgotten to bring your 0% period to an end when they should.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

I reckon that sounds about right.

Well I do check my statements, although I pay minimum by direct debit so no chance of missing any payments. Also I will just keep an eye on the "estimated interest if not paid in full next month" as if it goes up from 0% that will give me an indication it's time to think about it.

More of an ironic lol as I recognise the chances of them making a mistake in my favour are non existent :rotfl:

    Just phone them and ask.
  • It will appear on your statement three months before the expiry date
