sky tv in both bedrooms?

Options
hello i hope im posting on the right board? apologies if it should be elsewhere.

I have got sky tv (full package) consisting of one sky box downstairs in my front room linked upto my big digital tv.

I want to transmit the sky signal to my 2 analogue tvs in the bedrooms. Im unsure as to how i do this. I dont want to pay for a multiroom subscription as i think sky are having enough off me every month £43.50.

I have seen those magic eye thingys but will i need 2 of these and do they have wires that need to run from downstairs to upstairs?

Do i need a booster or an infrared transmitter (sorry dont really know what im on about lol!)

Is there a wireless solution? I am aware that i cannot watch different channels to what is on the main tele but would i have to have the big tele on downstairs when i am upstairs in bed?

How much will it cost me and could i do it myself

thanks lucy x

i have an av sender like this,,
    very easy to install.

what it does is you plug it into your sky box and the other one to your tv upstairs and you can change channels upstairs and its all wireless, obviously you cant watch 2 channels at the same time but there still good.

The Sky Digibox has a 2nd Coax output labelled RF2, you can connect a coax lead to it and connect to other TV sets. The TV Eye works by sending the remote control signal back through the same coax into the Sky Digibox, so it is really designed for 1 extra set.

The Wireless Video Senders cost around £30-40 for a set (Argos sell them), performance will depend on obtaining a good signal path and a clear channel without interference from routers or other wireless devices.

very easy, just one thing, at the box downstairs you have to put the sender wire in front of the box and that can look unsightly if your a bit fussy, but if like me you have your box in a cabinet then its fine.

Each TV set will need its own receiver, but you can buy a 2nd receiver with some video senders

They should be able to send the AV signal to the 2nd TV but not all are compatible with the remote control. Check the details before you buy, or ensure you'll get a refund if no good.
