You could look at local pubs or hotels that maybe having a firework display at midnight? As a pyrotechnic there is nothing better than putting on a good display on NYE

Do you want to go out? I only ask because I find sushi restaurants tend to be a half hour in-and-out type thing for me, rather than a nice hour and a half sit down meal where your money goes a bit further but if that's what she wants to do then do go.
You could make sushi at home, it's quite fun as a couple and easy to do. You could also mix your own cocktails, there are lots of recipes online. A little romantic gift at 12 could be really thoughtful - no one's ever done that for me!0 -
Well i've been to this restaurant once before and she keeps asking when I'm going to take her lol making sushi does sound fun though as does making cocktails in the house.
Ok so now I just need to think of a small gift to give at 12...0 -
Forget about buyng her a present if you're low on funds - you've only just had Christmas.0

Can't she take you?0 -
You sound very sweet :T
How about getting a car picnic ready, flask of coffee and a few snuggly blankets and driving somewhere beautiful and remote to see in the new year alone and cuddled up?0 -
It's not really traditional to give a gift at midnight, and I don't think there's any need if you're broke and you've just bought her a Christmas present.
But if you want to do something nice why not try the Spanish thing of eating 12 grapes, one at each chime of the clock?0 -

Sounds nice but we'll have been drinking
Yeah the present thing was just a thought and it would have been something cheap but sentimental0 -
If you do give her a pressie at midnight - please remember to do it every year. Can guarantee she'll expect it lol!
One of my nicest nights out at New Year was in a restaurant. They had a band or DJ or something, nice little Italian in Blackheath. Is it a conveyer belt type sushi restaurant, or a proper sit down Japanese? You may find you're in there 2-3 hours if the latter so may actually still be there at midnight if you book for say 9.30pm. And I'd book sooner rather than later if they are definitely open for NYE. Chances are it'll be a set menu, or a pricier one. Most seem to have a fixed price menu for NYE so check online first.
I suppose the obvious suggestion is jewellery. But, as someone said, it's a bit soon after Christmas...
I did get a friend's daughter some earrings. If she has pierced ears and wears them, that'll be a good option - there were tonnes of nice ones on ebay for just a couple of quid (with free P&P!). I bought these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silver-Tone-Small-Square-Crystal-Stud-Earrings-e0023-/181170057430?pt=UK_JewelleryWatches_WomensJewellery_Rings_SR&var=480252774853&hash=item2a2e93b0d6
No box, but you could pick up a plain cardboard one in a shop or on ebay. Fold up some nice crinkly tissue paper or something and place them on that (or stab them through!).

for the present it could be your hopes and dreams for you as a couple over the next year or a relationship kind of bucket list eg i will tell you i love you every day. we will have a moonlit picnic etc dont make it about one moment make it about the entirety of your relationship
or failing that proposeThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50
