Passport Renewal - How Long?

Does anybody have experience of renewing their passport in December? How long is it likely to be before the passport is issued?

I did mine in November. It only took a couple of weeks to come back, despite me making a couple of stupid mistakes with the application.

I've had mine back in a week , paid for post office checking before it was sent though

Don't pay for check and send, read it through twice yourself and fill it in carefully.

Agree - don't pay for check and send.

Do the application on-line and it'll be printed out and sent to you for signature.

Website says to allow 3 weeks.

Mine also came back within a week. Agree the PO checking is not worth the money - just check the form carefully before you send it.

I've just got my passport back - 6 days! Can't believe it's so quick.

Like others have said, fill it online and they then post it to you - no point in paying the PO to check it either as a result! Turnaround was within two weeks.
