Hi there, I will be a 3rd year student come september on a biomedical sciences dourse, and wld like to start planning ideas for my disseration as i have never embarked on such a thing i'm clueless as to where i shld start, even deciding what topic to base my dissertation is quite confusing. I'd suggest starting with the topics you have enjoyed most. Get a piece of paper and write down all you have covered over the last two years, than take the subjects that jump out at you.
If you're lucky you will think of something you felt frustrated about not doing enough of. If not, pin the paper up somewhere and just add bits as you think of them - sometimes it can take a few weeks of this to come up with something.
Other option, is a chat with your personal tutor or the tutor of a module (or lecture topic) that you found interesting or were particualrly good at.
Best of luck - I'm told it's the hardest task but haven't begun mine yet so can't say that form experience!0
