Renting out a McCarthy and Stone retirement flat
thestens
Hello, my mum who is 91 has decided to stay in the care home where she is currently receiving respite care. She owns a McCarthy Stone retirement flat. We, her daughter and son in law, are thinking about renting it out to provide some of the money required to pay for her care (she also has pensions and other rental income). I believe that Peveril, the management company, demand a fee each time the property is let? Does anyone have experience of this? In that case, and bearing the fees for a letting agent as well, would we be better to try to sell the property? It is a 1 bed flat, 7 years old, in a town in the NE of England.
