Bbc 1 changed to Midlands. Help

I live in the Northwest and always have BBC Northwest tuned into my Sony TV. For some unknown reason we are now getting BBC west Midlands and no matter how many times I re- scan the annoying channel keeps showing. We are a long way away from West Midlands so no idea why it is picking it up. Nothing has changed. I want my local station back. How can I do this?

Its built into the Sony tv. I dont have a digi box as such. No way of doing a reset. You can only re-scan.0

Remove the aerial lead from the TV and perform a re-scan. This will result in you having no channels stored.
Now re-connect the aerial lead and re-scan again.
This usually sorts out incorrect channels.

Is there an option to scan and (1) add new channels or (2) replace all existing channels?
Never heard of a tv not scanning.0 -
If I unplug the Ariel the TV can't scan as it hasn't got a signal. It's a Sony Bravia and we don't have a manual because the TV was given to us by a friend.0

This only narrows things down ever so slightly. If you look for the model no. (probably on the rear), then a quick google should provide a link to the user manual and then the solution might be found.
