    If you have deep pockets, yes, it's certainly a good option.

    Excluding me, there aren't many on here who can buy houses like cream cakes ... :-)

    I know several people that have done it. Tapping relatives and bridging loans enabled it. ;)

    We bought before selling. Could that be an option?

    Really not sure about this one, although it is definitely worth looking into. I do think though that as we're really not looking to make a profit on our current house, we are going to price it as low as possible with the aim of selling quickly.

    It was a few years ago but we found our new house in August, exchanged in October and completed on November 1st. Old house went on the market, priced for sale on December 1st and we completed on 22nd December. :)

    Thanks. My concern is that the existing mortgage would be taken off our affordability. So say if we can get a mortgage with our income of say £160k, the current £60k mortgage will be taken off that meaning we could only get a new mortgage of £100k.
