at £250 I reckon it would be a long payback unless you waste a lot of heating anyway. For most people working regular hours with a properly set timer and thermostat this will save very little.CHALLENGES MAR'14:

I don't think the payback would be very long at all. Fancy remote thermostats are a good idea for many. Unless you work from home, have young children at home, or never go out in the evening then such a control (of whichever brand) could easily pay back over one year, two at most, over just leaving the centrall heating on twice-a-day timer for months on end.
You probably want one that can control different rooms, though. This one seems to just control one master temperature and times - if you want to invest in some such system then spend the extra for one with more zoned control. (Then again, as long as you turn the radiator stats down in your bedroom each night then a single control can work. You'll know your house and know what it needs.)0 -

Tado comes out best for simple install in a small house in today's Sunday Times review on a bunch of these wifi energy controllers. £249 or rent for £6.99/month.
One day the price will come down to £50 for this sort of gadget.0 -
