I can confirm that Nationwide do with the Flex Account and Abbey with their basic account.
Who else has a basic account with say Norwich & Peterborough, Yorkshire Readycash, Co op Cashminder, the Citibank account etc and has seen their credit files recently and can confirm that these accounts report positive info to the credit reference agencies?
Thanks to everyone in helping to compile this info.

Most banks query credit reference agencies, even for basic bank account applications for security reasons and to see if you are good enough for higher status accounts - banks are not ones to miss opportunitiesProudly Banking & Saving With:

Could you advise what information is reported, please? Is it account balance, activity levels, etc?
Thanks.

Citibank report to Experian if you have an overdraft with them.0

The basic accounts from Abbey and the Coop both report regularly. Halifax Easycash does not, but Cardcash does.0

hi all, I hold a basic account with lloyds TSB, this account comes with a proper VISA debit card, but no overdraft nor cheque book and i can confirm that they update Experian with a monthly status i.e overdraft ammout = £0
and it is listed as a normal current account so lenders will see this and not the fact it is a restricted account.
Hope this information helps.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
