Hi all
As it's heartwarming stews and soups season we thought we'd gauge who's a slow cooker fan and who prefers the pressure cooker.

I'm ashamed to say I've got a pressure cooker in a box and have never used it. The thought of it exploding scares me.:o
So I'll have to vote for the slow cooker.0 -
Slow cookerI'm a slow cooker user, my husband's a pressure cooker fan - even though the pressure cooker did exactly that a few weeks ago maman!Could you do with a Money Makeover?

Slow cookerI too am guilty of the pressure-cooker-in-the-box syndrome, but my two slow cookers are used regularly.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

Can I say neither? Now I have my remoska I don't use my SC much at all (and don't own a pressure cooker either).I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Main use for slow cooker is to make meals for the evening so I like to use it in the mornings.
Also useful for dinner party - when soup made the night before or removed from freezer - pop in slow cooker and leave on low so it needs no attention at all until its time to serve
Also useful to keep hot punch ready to serve and wait for refills
Pressure cooker - main use to make stock and then soup - so its in use when making the soup which will either be frozen in bulk or put in the slow cooker to heat and keep warm.
Also used to quick cook potatoes and veg - usually to go with whatever has been cooking in the slow cooker all day
If you told me I had to decide on one and that you would remove the other - its simple - I would just have to kill you!John0 -
Pressure cookerI don't have a slow cooker but I do 'slow cook' on the kitchen wood burner top.
Pressure cooker is used for a gammon joint, done in 20 - 30 mins depending on size. Also for making stock from bones. Also precooking hard fruit like plumbs and oranges which are then made into jam/marmalade/chutney. Saves time and gas
aims for 2014 - grow more fruit and veg, declutter0 -
Slow cookerpressure cookers are great but they are much more expensive that a slow cooker so if someone had neither then I'd advise them to get a slow cooker0

Pressure cookerLove both my pressure cooker and my slow cooker.
Just pressure cooked the chicken bones from yesterday's roast chicken and have enough left over to make a chicken pie for the three of us.
I also make soup in my pressure cooker as it is much quicker than making it in the slow cooker.0 -
Slow cookerI voted for slow cooker as I use it far more at home than my pressure cooker, although when camping I use my pressure cooker as we usually don't have electric so slow cooker no good!
