Ulster Bank - missing transactions

Anyone else experiencing problems with Ulster Bank? I made two debit card payments on Thursday, usually my available balance updates instantly but there's no sign of these transactions. I called the bank this morning, they can't find any record of my payments and they're calling me back later today once they've investigated. I originally spoke to them on Twitter on Saturday about it and they said they weren't aware of any issues.

There probably isn't any issue. Sometimes retailers process transactions "offline", which means the retailer doesn't contact the bank for authorisation if its under the floor limit or if the merchant is having a technical problem. Its similar to how transactions are processed on a plane or some trains.0 -
I didn't know that, thanks.
They're both retailers I've used frequently and seen my balance update instantly with, so who knows.0 -

Last week one of the major merchant bank acquirers Streamline (Owned by RBS, surprise surprise) had some issues which meant some merchants couldn't process transactions in real time. This was probably what was happening at the merchants you used your card at.0 -
If RBS has systems problems they fix Nat West and RBS first.
Then worry about Ulster Bank.0
