It hasn't lost much at all! It will not affect their health. You are probably better off feeding it after its best as Royal Canin does not have a best date, it is such a rubbish rubbish food that feeding it fresh is probably the worst thing for your cat.

Feed it, the cats won't notice and won't be affected. We need to reduce waste in this country, not encourage waste. Also that cat charity needs to not be so picky! They should be grateful for anything they receive.
Interested in what you say, why is it rubbish food? I'd thought it was one of the better brands, which is why we switched from Iams, but maybe need to change!

Update: Situation with Pet Planet has now been resolved. They have done further checks and realise that the food had been advertised without this information. I think it would probably cost them more to pick it up now, so they have suggested I distribute it to animal charities. I'll share it out to a few in the area, so that the date isn't an issue. Thank you to those who made some helpful suggestions.

There is a lot of negative reviews for the premium brand. Mars which manufacturers it also owns Pedigree, Whiskas and Cesar. Take a look at the reviews for those and they are no better. Stay away from Purina and Mars for animal food- they're in it for the profit, not the animals. The foods allow an animal to exist but not to thrive. The website above goes into more info about cats requirements :)
