Hiya,
We have ten days in Tenerife, in February we have decided on Valentines Day, were doing a Private Boat Trip, and taking the Miss's out for a Fancy meal for Evening so thats one day out of 10.
Now the OH don't like Zoo's, So im trying to convince her on the Loro Parque
But if we only have time for one which one would you guys Choose?
Also if we were decide to get from Golf del sur to Loro parque what would be the best way to do it?
Neil

Siam parque is worth it if u like big water parks. Loro parque was much better than we expected mainly due to the amazing killer whale . There is another smaller zoo called jungle park that is fab and cheaper which is also connected to the smaller water park Aqualand that had a great dolphin show.£2 Savers club £0/£150
1p a day £/0 -
I've not been to Siam Park so can't comment on it
Loro Parque is a great zoo with plenty to see but if she doesn't like zoos, you may struggle.
We've probably been 4 or 5 times over the last decade and enjoy it every time.
The Discovery Tour with lunch is worth doing if you can find a good price for it, you get to go behind the scenes in some places and have reserved seats front and centre for the dolphins and whale shows etc.
The lunch at the Grill Bar is particularly nice too
Travel Republic often have good deals, you simply get the bus from somewhere near your accommodation.

The film 'Blackfish' implicates Loro Park in cruelty to killer whales and has the story of a keeper who was scalped by a Killer Whale before it was sent off to Sea World. If she doesn't like zoo's, I would suggest you keep away0

I know nothing about Siam Park, but I would *never* go to Loro Parque. It has a terrible reputation in terms of how it treats its animals - especially, in fact, the killer whales.0

Yes I'd implore anyone thinking of going to Loro Parque (or Sea World or any of the others for that matter) to watch Blackfish first. If you still want to go, fair enough. But I suspect most people wouldn't.0 -
From the the south do remember that the trip to Loro Parque will take about {not counting pick up/drop offs} 90 mins each way and you may need to go into Playa to pick up the coach before you travel to the north.
We have had many happy times at Loro Parque over the years and taking out the Orca's there is plenty to see {including penguins with real snow.
As stated Siam Park is a water park not a zoo but it is dear and you can be stopped and searched if they think you have food with you so it is not a cheap day out. If you choose Siam park arrive early {before they open to get the best spots for the day and remember if it is half term break you will spend a lot of time queuing for the good rides.0 -
went to siam park this year and was impressed with it, clean and tidy and well worth the visit.
one of the best places we went to is monkey world near Los Cristianos.0 -
Having done both, I'd probably choose Siam Park. Impressive slides, very clean and tidy, friendly, but absolutely extortionate. Same goes for Loro Parque, but really it just depends whether you prefer slides or animals. Loro is a very good zoo though.0

For transport, you'll probably be best hiring a car for a day or two. Incredibly cheap in Tenerife (£15/day). We rented one (also in Golf del Sur) for 48 hours, picking up at lunchtime. Took a tour that afternoon to Playa las Americas (eurg!) then up Teide. Next day to Loro Parque. Following morning to the supermarket to stock up the self-catering

just out of interest where in Golf Del Sur you staying ? also if your looking or thinking of hiring a car try auto reisen, used them before and was really good.0
