it is a meeting where different speciality doctors and nurses involved with the patient care have, to decide how to procced with the case, treament discharge and things like that. all patients under specialists have, its kind of group brain storm. just to make sure everyone dealing with the patient knows what is going on and all bases are covered.0

its when a group of medical and admin staff who work in the same dept gather and discuss current cases, ie, all the oncologists and radiographers and a couple of admin in a hospital and some from surrounding smaller hospitals discussing various cancer cases. means the treating doctor gets more opinions on their patient and possibly suggestions on treatment etcNonny mouse and Proud!!

That's it precisely. It's a way for everyone to discuss together the best way to progress the care for a patient. Often used before discharge.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

Definitely not just for cancer patients. MiL had a couple of these meetings following falls at home. Basically it was to see if she would be able to cope, what adaptations needed to be made, and what help should be brought in (meals on wheels, carers twice a day etc.)
