  • What was the valuation on the house?

    The figures you are taking about don't seem huge taking into account the price of the house. I think a roof needing replacement in 2-3 years is not really an urgent , immediate fault requiring a reduction in price.

    However, there is no reason why you cannot go back to the sellers with the relevant parts of the report and try to negotiate a reduction.

    How does your offer compare with recent sold process for simialar properties?

    If £1,300 now and another £5,000 in 2 -3 years is really unafforabable for you then are you sure that you are no over stretching yourselves in buying at this price in any event?
  • Thanks very much. I also have to consider re sale value should I want to move in the near future. Therefore I am going to speak with the estate agents tomorrow and ask for a reduction in cost. I willlet you know how I get on.
