The best tablet that €300 can buy?

I've been after a tablet for a while, and now I've been offered the opportunity to choose one worth up to €300, I no longer have to look out for a budget one
As I've never had one, I've got no idea. Hoping some more knowledgeable people on here could help me out (Also hope this is the right forum)
I've never been in to Apple products, and would rather stick to Android (as my phone is Android, and I already have a few paid apps). Ideally, the tablet would have HDMI out capability.
My instinct is: The new Nexus 7 32gb. Any reason to look past that if I have the money? Any other contenders?
Samsung Galaxy 10.1 is also a possibility. It's a bit bigger, but the reviews don't seem amazing.
Any other ones I should be looking at?

The Cube's are worth a look as are the Sony tablets (screens on both Cube & Sony are higher res than those on the iPad).Never Knowingly Understood.

The first step would be to choose which size you'd prefer, there's no right or wrong with the smaller/larger sizes as it comes down to personal preference.
If you like the smaller size then the Nexus 7 2013 is a very good choice as it has an excellent screen, fast processor and vanilla Android so it gets the updates quicker than other models. The main downside is the lack of expandable storage.

Tablet experience is very good on Apple. I rcommend a 3rd 4th gen ipad.
I am not a fan of apple, I have a galaxy s3 now, when I switched from iPhone 3gs I missed how smoothly and we'll integrated everything worked. On galaxy s3 I had to find a keyboard, browser, podcast app etc. Everything is separatedand modular, apple integrates everything so iit's seamless.
I have no doubt you will have similar teething issues on android tablets0 -
Had to find a keyboard and browser? There are a couple installed as standard with a wide selection of others available if you want something different.
Same with the browser, Its built in but plenty of other choices if you dont like the layout etc.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

sorry, was typing from loo on the s3 so had to keep the message short.
the default keyboard on s3 is absolutely dreadful, typos galore and it has this weird habit of preentering al these weird random numbers in the text field when you first tap it. Had to install a 3rd party keyboard called swiftkey to make it work correctly - which gets turned off on reboot so every time i have to set swiftkey as default keyboard on device restart.
the default web broswer is rubbish on s3 too, it does not display text correctly and appear tiny because it displays pages exactly like on a desktop machine whereas smart devices like iOS enlarge the text on forums like these in relation to the rest of the page.
I had to install dolphin browser so internet experience could be improved.
there are a few niggles with the s3 - like if im searching for a business on the web and looking for their phone number. i can't just tap on the number to dial it. I have to copy and paste it onto the phone. it's infurating when youre out and about and short of time that you have to do this.0 -

I had the same problem with another Android. Also when you connect the USB to the computer? Something to do with where Android keeps paid apps. I've since got another Android handset and don't have that issue, weird.
Thanks for the tablet tips. So far Nexus 2013 seems the 7" champion. Any 10" tablets worth looking at? Galaxy Tab 3?
Hadn't heard of these Cube tabs....will certainly have a look at the Sony0 -
Having got a cheaper Android tablet with a bit of manufacturer "skin" I would stick to the latest Nexus if you want Android but try the new iPad Mini in PC world before you buy.0
