Positive feedback when bad experience?

Hi guys,
Wondered if you could help me please?
I've sold an item on eBay last Tuesday still haven't been paid and sent the buyer a message today saying if they paid by the 18th I'll make sure to post so they might have it in time for Christmas.
When I've checked their feedback it's all positive and green but everyone is a negative comment saying buyer didn't pay and thanks for wasting time etc.
It's only a £3 item but why would you leave positive feedback if they didn't pay you??
Thankssteph

Because sellers can't leave negative feedback.
eBay is a complete joke nowadays.0 -
Ah! I didn't realise that! I'm not happy! I've just sold it on a second chance offer and the person who bought it paid straight away!
Amazing how eBay can let people like that get away with things0 -
!but why would you leave positive feedback if they didn't pay you??
Provided that the sellers complete the non payer dispute, the buyer should get non payer strikes for this, too many of which means that they can't bid on auctions where the sellers have their buyer preferences set up to stop people with strkes bidding on their items.0 -
Sounds like you both may have had bad experiences.0

Because sellers can be dim sometimes. Just open an NPB and close it on day 4 , don't follow the bad example of other sellers by leaving feedback, give the buyer a strike instead.
Then make sure you have buyers with 2 or more strikes blocked, and for those buyers who haven't come across dim sellers and who have strikes, they will not be able to bid on your items.
I notice you have already gone to a SCO , that might be a bit premature as first buyer can still pay and are eligible to leave you feedback. If you don't do an NPB then this buyer will continue to get away with not bothering to pay and you do a dis service to future sellers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. and what happened before that?
You left a seller a neg or at least less than positive feedback
then got a neg in return
buyers stopped leaving negs to avoid getting one in return0 -

Exactly. There's no need to rate your buyers. Just follow the correct procedure, open an NPB and move on.0 -

I was never afraid of leaving neg feedback for buyers or sellers if I felt it was justified, and I know that I was far from alone in this.0 -

yup,but it is rendered pointless when its neg for neg
leave a seller a neg and get one back when all you can do is pay0 -
A NPB is more useful than a neg. A neg doesn't stop a buyer from bidding on an item, an NPB can stop them bidding if your rules are set up correctly.0
