Well I queued from 4.20 a.m. at my local Re*ding store.
It was freezing, about 200 people in front of me, at least got in and got everything I wanted.
A few nasty tag holes though - disappointing Next!
And all the tags priced in red ink - shame for the presents I was planning to give.
Think I will give next year a miss!0 -
The D3rby store was ridiculous! Usually I arrive 15minutes before it opens and everyone in the queue gets straight in, today we didn't get into the store until 7.15 (after arriving at 5.45) and had to queue 50 mins to pay. I also thought the stock was rubbish compared to previous sales. Very disappointed and won't bother again, and definitely won't be asking for Next gift vouchers for presents again!LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Daughter brought stuff home for me after her sale shift at Next finished.
All the clothes going back. What utter tat quality Next stuff is for the price. I'd rather go to M&S or Debenhams. Everything is polyester or acrylic.
Home stuff is alright but again better quality can be found at above mentioned stores0 -
I've never really done the Next sale before but the online one started a bit before the advertised 3pm start and within those 5 or 10 mins what I had wanted had gone so I thought I would try in-store. I thought a 5-30 arrival would suffice but was surprised to see a really long queue there already. I mean it was only Harrow not Oxford Street. They gave out 250 tags to those in the queue as a apparently only 250 allowed in store at once for health and safety reasons and I was outside that maybe about 300th. One of the staff said in twenty years he'd never seen the queue like that. Luckily though I barely bad to wait for a few extra minutes which was a bit odd because I'm sure people weren't in and out within a few mins. When I did get in I was fortunate in that I wanted workers whereas most people were looking at casuals so I managed to grab some suits and shirts but I had to move really quickly. The queue to pay lasted 45 mins. All in all I was really pleased as it's good discounting. The spirit was generally good though there were attempts, both successful and not, to queue jump outside and friends letting other friends go in with them.
How did others get on?
Perhaps Font will know- will sale stock get replenished either/or in store or online? I accidentally picked up an item one size larger than I wanted.when I went back to store at 11am all gone and the rails I had shopped a few hours before entirely bare!!0 -

Discounting is 50% or better...more sizes available...each store carries different stock levels, so the article you couldn't get online may be available instore. Why queue for any sale?

It depends on the amount of stock units a store has. If they can get it all out before the sale starts they will. Last year my store had 20000 units of sale stock and we did constant replenishment during boxing day. This year we only had 15000 units and no replen was necessary. Your best bet would be to keep nipping in as items will be returned during this week.
From new years day more stock will go online, any left over stock will be recalled to the warehouses and be online0 -

Most of the sale stock is sent to stores with only some kept for online sales. After the new year when more stock goes online it will mainly be the leftovers from the instore sale.0
