Performance Measurement dept

Hi I don't normally do this but as I am quite nervy and would really appreciate some guidance.

I claim ESA and a Multi Benefit review officer is going to come Next week.

What does this mean will they be searching my house?,

I Remember from when I was a kid the means test officers who had us sitting in a ring while they searched out house is it like this?

what type of questions do they ask?

does it really last 3 hours and is it more like an integration?

will I be under caution?

As I'm quite vulnerable what are my rights in this meeting if two come should I allow both in or just the named person?

I have been advised to see them without my care worker as often they don't speak to me but to her. As last time well as stated they ignored me and felt she was the one on trial ( ATOS Medical )so shes less than happy to be questioned like this again.

please advise.

    please advise.

Who advised you to see them without your careworker - them or the careworker?

If you are a vulnerable person it would be advisable to have a professional who knows you to be present.

The DSS when I phoned claimed it was just an informal chat.
  • This is their department which does spot checks to make sure no errors have been made in assessing your benefits. It's about checking on THEIR STAFF for accuracy, not challenging you or accusing you of anything.

I would say that it's probably better to have your care worker or a friend there as support, in case you get confused, but it doesn't seem to be a visit to worry about. They will NOT search your house, they are not going to interview you under caution.

    PLease don't worry.

No, they won't search your house, and there's nothing to worry about.

    Lin :)
You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

My parents told me about it as well, it happened in the 30s. Nothing like that happeeed in the 80s - even under Thatcher!
  • I want to say had my interview. It didn't exactly make me feel less worried. Honestly a way she asked a couple of questions scared me.
    Her reactions were odd too.

Am I allowed to know about the form she filled in? To see what she wrote?

Not as if I'm doing anything wrong but still.
